Letter from Dale
Head Lice: The word alone can set heads itching. And as any parent of a school-age child can attest, these once-seasonal nits have become a year-round nuisance that has hit the Westchester and New York metro area hard. My own war with the pesky parasites, fought valiantly on the battleground of my daughter’s scalp 14 years ago, has evolved into an entrepreneurial turn for me, and a reputation as the Lice Expert of Dobbs Ferry. In other words, a professional lice technician, who is available to the Westchester area as an expert resource, can lend words of advice and comfort on a not-so-comfortable topic. In addition, my lice removal services are available seven days a week either in a home-based salon or traveling, if necessary.
Through patience and perseverance – traits required as I dealt with multiple reinfestations on my daughter’s head over a three-month period, I have developed a successful lice-ridding regimen employing all-natural, non-toxic products and a special combing technique that removes all of the attached eggs on the hair shafts. I have dedicated my part-time business, Lice Off, Inc., to educating others on effective lice removal and prevention, and now, my products are newly available in an All-In-One Head Lice Kit available for $30 to families, PTAs, doctors, school nurses and camps.
The All-In-One Kit includes an all-natural lice shampoo, three Pantene conditioners, a metal lice comb, half-ounce jar of baking soda, and a preventive natural leave-in spray conditioner, along with simple instructions for their use.
When I first started my business 13 years ago, head lice were a seasonal problem. Their emergence as a year-round scourge is, in my opinion, linked to global warming and resistance to over-the-counter pesticides, leaving the only effective and safe way to treat the problem through natural, non-toxic products. Over the years, I’ve identified the best of these products and have combined them all into one convenient kit, sparing parents who are dealing with a lice outbreak the additional frustration of having to run from store to store to collect everything they need to effectively fight it.
To order a kit, customers can email me at dlong2758@aol.com or call 914-424-1367. More information is also available on my website, www.liceoffinc.com.
