Head lice have been around for thousands of years. Even Cleopatra was buried with a metal head lice comb in her tomb. Unfortunately, today we are seeing a dramatic increase in the spreading of head lice to boys, girls, women, men, young, and old. It has become a worldwide occurrence.
Head lice are considered parasitic insects that live in the hair and scalp of humans. They need human blood to survive. Head lice are spread from person to person by direct contact. They crawl very quickly and do not jump or fly. They are three different stages of head lice: the egg, nymph (baby bug) and the adult.
The best way to great rid of head lice today is through the use of non-toxic and natural products, a metal lice comb, and a combing process with conditioner and baking soda. Lice do not go away in one day. That is why combing every other day for 10 to 14 days is essential. Check out the tutorial video at www.liceoofinc.com to show you the different types of techniques in the combing process.
There are many ways to prevent head lice. Make sure your child does not share hair brushes or hats. Girls with long hair should wear their hair up and parents need to check their children’s heads at least once a week to see if there are any signs of egg activity which are found “glued” to the hair shaft and will not slide off easily. Also, try to avoid direct contact with the head, hair, clothing, or personal belongings of a person with head lice and always treat the affected persons, their contacts, and the households.
Remember if you are at your “nits” end, there are lice experts that can help you.
